Tracking isn’t just for working dogs- it is a fantastic activity for all pet dogs, regardless of breed or age.  It is low impact but deeply enriching, making it suitable for all dogs.
Using their incredible sense of smell, dogs can learn to follow a scent trail, providing them with both mental and physical enrichment. It is a great way to channel excess energy in high-drive dogs without over-exerting them. It helps to build confidence making it ideal for nervous, anxious or reactive dogs as tracking gives them a ‘job’ to do which increases their confidence in different environments. Tracking is a team activity – you and your dog work together, improving communication and trust.
